Memory Box for all ages

Here is the beginning of something, but just not sure what….so, as my brain takes in the newness of blogging will just type here whatever words come to mind.  You know our English teachers would tell us that isn’t the way as we should be careful with wording and phrasing.

I am being sort of careful just being here.
For years have had good eye for color and have been able to put my homes together with colors that compliment each other while comfortable for my family and any guests that appear at our door. Never tried to paint except on the walls and even a two story house.  For me paint on the walls give room freshness and new personality….I am all for the new personality.

So it does make me sad while living in an apartment and not allowed to paint the walls.  I use color in pillows, bedding, rugs, pictures to give the apartment personality. Now I paint and do designs on wood, fabric…anything that doesn’t move.  I will be adding some pictures for you to view items have created.
It gives me great pleasure to take a blank piece of wood and bring it to life with colorful paint.

For several years have been selling my creative items at craft shows. Attached are few items you will enjoy and think that they were completed with love and joy.  This is a memory box…we all need memory boxes as each day brings us memories to keep and share. Remember, it's never to late to begin filling your memory box.

Hope you enjoy and please leave a comment.

My furry partner in design

Love my big, furry Rufus.  While creating over 25 hats for a show happened to catch picture of him sitting among the silk flowers that were on the living room floor.  He is a mere 18 lbs, waddles when he walks and the most loving kitty.  Rufus is now 12 years old and admit fear when the day comes when he goes to kitty heaven.  No need for an alarm clock...he does that for me.  Usually around 7 am he will jump on the bed, begin to meow, butting his head against my face...and keeps it up until I do waken and get out of bed.

Here is picture of my loveable, very furry Rufus.  What's not to love about this face?

Hats made the show

I belong to a wonderful group called Reflections Community Chorus and entertain at senior centers, assisted living and nursing homes.  We did the song Put On Your Sunday Clothes from Hello Dolly. Here are the hats I designed to be worn during that song.  They brought many smiles and we all enjoyed wearing the hats. Most of the hats were found in thrift stores and even many of the lace & silk flowers used to give them their Sunday look.  The charming lady that's wearing hats in these pictures is a true treasure.  She is a paper mache hat model from the 1800s and I call her Madame...perfect name for she is so elegant sitting on dresser in my bedroom.

I still love wearing hats and do when going to church or functions where people are dressed in lovely attire. I did attend a book review luncheon Tuesday and naturally wore hat to compliment my attire.  Amazing how many compliments you get when wearing a hat.  On Easter Sunday decorated hat to coordinate with my outfit and even the Minister said "I love your hat"...that was a wow and blessed moment.

There were over 25 created and I felt each hat was so personal to me....they were created with love and joy.

Enjoy this small selection of the hats and think how lovely you would feel having one to adorn your head.

Hugs to all reading this blog....Merrytoday
